UNMATCHED PERFORMANCE IN A COMPACT—THAT'S DAKOTA R/T - Born from the passion of Dodge Truck engineers and refined on the race track, the Dakota R/T is a performance truck like no other. Now in its fourth year of production, this limited edition Dakota meets the highly unique needs of the performance truck enthusiast and provides yet another image piece for the Dodge brand.

Dakota R/T for 2002 is equipped with a special version of the 5.9-liter Magnum V-8 engine and a large-bore, free-flow exhaust that delivers increased engine performance. The truck's performance capability is supported with a throaty and powerful-sounding exhaust note. The 250-horsepower engine is mated to a four-speed automatic transmission, and is supported by massive 255/55x17-inch tires. The Dakota R/T is lowered one inch and features unique suspension tuning and front and rear stabilizer bars for added control. Further enhancing its street truck reputation, Dakota R/T is only offered in two-wheel drive. All Dakota models are produced at DaimlerChrysler's "Dodge City" Warren Truck Assembly Plant, in Warren, Michigan.
